Hero this year is going to launch its new hybrid scooter leap. Hero leap runs on an 8KW permanent magnet AC (PMAC) motor. This motor is powered by lithium-ion batteries at pumps out 60 Nm. Hero leap can be charged through plugging an wall outlet.
Hero Leap also has an range extender which uses petrol from three litre fuel tank and is of 124cc. When leap runs on range extender with fuel engine then it can touch the speed of 100kmph. Hero Motocorp also claims that petrol engine can extend the range of scooter by upto four times. This hybrid scooter also consist of 240mm brembo disc brake at front.
